Location: Saltlake, Kolkata
Client: Government of India
Project Description:
The project involved structural design, retrofit, and rehabilitation work at the National Institute of Homeopathy, Saltlake, Kolkata. The objective was to enhance the structural integrity of the existing building, ensuring it meets modern safety standards while also improving its functionality. Additionally, a new sewerage system was designed and implemented to meet the growing needs of the facility.
Scope of Work:
- Structural Design Drawings:
- Building Design: Developed detailed structural design drawings for the existing building to ensure compliance with updated standards and load requirements.
- Reinforcement Design: Provided structural drawings for the reinforcement of key elements such as beams, columns, and slabs to improve load-bearing capacity.
- Material Specifications: Selected appropriate materials for construction, ensuring compatibility with the existing structure while improving safety and longevity.
- Retrofitting and Rehabilitation:
- Structural Strengthening: Designed retrofitting solutions to strengthen and stabilize the existing structure, addressing any vulnerabilities in the building’s foundation and superstructure.
- Seismic Upgrades: Implemented seismic retrofitting measures to improve the building’s resilience to potential earthquakes.
- Rehabilitation of Critical Elements: Rehabilitated and restored damaged structural elements, including columns, beams, and slabs, to extend the life of the building and improve safety.
- Sewerage System Design:
- Sewerage Network Design: Designed a new sewerage system to efficiently handle wastewater generated within the facility.
