Client: Government of West Bengal (GoWB)

Project Description:
The Riadighi College Building project was undertaken to design and construct a state-of-the-art educational facility in line with modern architectural and structural standards. Located in Riadighi, West Bengal, this project aimed to provide a safe, durable, and functional environment for educational purposes. The building design emphasizes sustainability, efficient space utilization, and long-term structural integrity.

Scope of Work (Structural):

  1. Structural Design and Analysis:
    • Conducted detailed structural analysis for the college building, considering load-bearing requirements, local seismic conditions, and overall stability.
    • Designed the structural system to optimize space while ensuring safety and durability.
  2. Foundation Design:
    • Designed a robust foundation system suited to the soil conditions and load-bearing capacity of the site.
    • Considered factors like groundwater levels and local soil characteristics to ensure stability and longevity.
  3. Superstructure Design:
    • Developed the design for the superstructure, including beams, columns, slabs, and roofs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
    • Focused on creating an efficient, earthquake-resistant design while providing ample space for classrooms, administrative offices, and other facilities.
  4. Detailing and Drawings:
    • Prepared detailed structural drawings, including foundation layouts, reinforcement details, and floor plans.
    • Ensured all structural components were accurately represented for easy implementation during construction.
  5. Materials and Sustainability Considerations:
    • Recommended construction materials that are both cost-effective and sustainable, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
    • Incorporated energy-efficient solutions where applicable, including provisions for natural lighting and ventilation.
  6. Structural Safety:
    • Ensured compliance with all safety standards, including the implementation of anti-seismic design measures and reinforcement to meet local building codes.
